Is Itaim Bibi in Sao Paulo a good neighborhood?

I am going to be in Sao Paulo for two days (Friday and Saturday) and my hotel is in Itaim Bibi. I am male (6′, 180lbs) and will be by myself. I plan to do most/all of my sightseeing during the day time. How worried/paranoid should I be about safety? I know the general guidelines about not carrying money and belongings, but do I have to worry about violent crime or muggings at all?
