Brazil is an incredible country with lots to offer travellers from around the world. The culture oozes fun and enjoyment and you’re not left disappointed when you arrive. From bustling cities like Rio and Sao Paolo to small beach towns like Paraty and Florianapolis you can spend a lifetime soaking up the samba vibe.

Rio is the archetypal Brazilian destination. When people think Brazil they think of the Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer statue and Sugarloaf mountain. The place has everything; beautiful beaches, world renowned icons and wonderful people. And it doesn’t stop there. Whilst Rio will have many places and monuments tat you will be familiar with, it also has a lot more. Exploring the favelas will take your breath away, as will a wander up into the mountains where small, quaint suburbs have developed with views that will leave you dumbfounded. Take your pick of the beaches, with a coastline overflowing with white sands and tanned bodies. From Ipanema to Copacabana, there’s plenty of space to be had. But none of this is the best thing about Rio, that is the Brazilian people. Party loving, samba dancing people who just want to hve a good time. When you find yourself inside a samba club you will find yourself taen off into another land, and you think it was all a dream when you finally wake up!

Brazil is not all about Rio though. It is full of small, colonial beach towns that capture the traveller’s imagination and will make you feel like you’ve walked into a novel. Paraty is the pick of these, with a laid back lifestyle that is hard not to get sucked into. Fisherman rise early to get their catch and spend the rest of the day lazing in the sun, drinking rum and enjoying life. Beautiful, colourful buildings are around every corner and walking the maze of cobbled streets leads you nowhere whilst enjoying every step. Magical.

And to top off the Brazilian tour, you can visit your very own paradise island. Ilha Grande is a short boat ride off the coast near Rio and harbours some of the most pristine beaches and clearest waters you will ever find. It’s enough just to sit in the main town soaking up the rays all day and the indulging in a Caipirinha come nightfall, but there’s also exploring to be done. Trek to elusive beaches on other parts of the island and you’ll be rewarded for your tired legs. Empty beaches in small coves and water that looks like it’s come out of a tap – Lopes Mendes beach is the one famed from these parts, but whichever you stumble across will keep you more than happy.

This is just a taster of what Brazil has to offer the intrigued traveller – you’ll have to go yourself to really discover the magic that oozes out of every corner of this marvelous country.
